What does your business do?
Bonfire recruitment specialises in recruiting within the manufacturing industry across the UK. Our company focuses on assisting businesses to recruit key senior management appointments and providing recruitment advice to ensure the right person is hired to drive the business forward. We work with a small number of clients to ensure we know their business inside out, allowing us to deliver and retain a working relationship for the long term.
What was the trigger point for first enlisting KPMG Small Business Accounting’s help?
I used to work for two of the largest recruitment firms in the UK, so have been in the industry for some time. About a year and a half ago I decided to set up my own recruitment business, and knew I would need some assistance with the day to day matters. Shortly after I joined Entrepreneurial Spark and saw the KPMG Small Business Accounting presentation. Funnily enough, this was right before I was about to enlist the help of a private accountant.
Why did you choose KPMG Small Business Accounting?
We’ve got a big vision in terms of where we want to take the business. I wanted a firm who could support me and grow with the company. KPMG Small Business Accounting suited us perfectly in that respect and there is the added benefit of having your accounts prepared by such a reputable organisation.
What benefits have you seen?
Because we have a dedicated accountant, the relationship feels much more personal. Our accountant comes back to me very quickly on pretty much any question I have, which has in turn really expanded my knowledge and business acumen.
In what way(s) has KPMG Small Business Accounting added value to your business?
The technology that supports the KPMG Small Business Accounting service has made my life ten times easier. I can now access my accounts easily, see exactly what’s going on in my business and share the reports with other directors.
How has the reality of working with KPMG Small Business Accounting compared with your expectations?
I thought that working with such a big brand would mean becoming a number and not really being looked after. It hasn’t been like that at all with KPMG Small Business Accounting. I’ve received support every step of the way. As a client I also have access to fantastic networking events, which are an added bonus for me as my job is all about people.
What are your next steps with KPMG Small Business Accounting?
We’ve reached a good point in terms of profitability so the next phase for the business will be expanding and opening up additional brands to support other areas within manufacturing in alignment with future opportunities. This will allow us to add more value to the clients we work closely with. Naturally I’ll need to know whether the numbers all add up so this will require some time with our accountant to ensure we can meet all our outgoings, while achieving our ambitious growth targets.
